From Hany Takla:
The St. Shenouda the Archimandrite Coptic Society has sponsored the development of
the first smart Phones and handheld devices for displaying the Coptic Bible in all
its surviving dialects. The first release was made in July 14, 2021. It included all
the available Bohairic texts for Old and New Testaments. It also include the Sahidic
New Testament based on the oldest complete texts available and several Old Testament
texts also. All the information is available on www.stshenouda.org/coptic-Bible-app.
The developer, Mr. Mina Makar of New Jersey USA, added an option to search the
availed texts by book or dialect, which is an indispensable tool for identifying
text of fragments. You can download his Unicode Coptic keyboard for the iOS
(iPhone/iPad) free of charge until July 28, 2021, it is less than one dollar to
obtain it afterwards. The search will exclude all diacritical signs or text editing
symbols! The App at this time is available for free to anyone until further notice.
You can change anything in the announcement above as you see fit. The Society has
been working on these text since its inception in 1979 and even earlier. We are
hoping in the future to add the functionality of adding variant readings by verse.

From Prof. Gawdat Gabra:
Fri, May 13, 2011. It gives me a great pleasure to inform
you that despite the financial crisis of the last few years, the
Claremont Graduate University School of Religion acquired the
right to develop an updated and continuously expanding and evolving
web-based version of the Coptic Encyclopedia. Staff and students
are currently digitizing the Coptic Encyclopedia and posting it
online: Almost the first three volumes are available at:
http://ccdl.libraries.claremont.edu/col/cce
It is indeed a laborious process since each article is uploaded
separately in order to facilitate the search for various “keywords.â€
For instance, this will allow the user to search for all relevant
Coptic Encyclopedia articles on Saint Antony and, if they wish,
to narrow the search to all mentions of Saint Antony in a monastic
context. Furthermore, all of these articles can be updated easily
in order to benefit from new research and discoveries. Each article
needs to be cross-referenced with the authoritative reference
from the U.S. Library of Congress and each possible search term
needs to be tagged in order to enable word searches. This methodology
will pay dividends when the entire Encyclopedia finally goes online
because interested researchers will be able to find information
quickly and easily. Furthermore, the articles are uploaded in
Adobe pdf format to enable the easy saving and printing of articles.
This ease of access is integral to the evolution of Coptic studies
for both current and future scholarship. In this way, the Coptic
Encyclopedia is catapulted into the 21st century with the flexibility
to accommodate new information and to become a dynamic and evolving
resource for all interested in Coptology and related disciplines.
